Don’t Pay More For Your Extended Warranty

by Gregory Nelson

I’d say the first way you can tell if you’re paying too much for an extended warranty is if the company you’re buying it from has no ownership in the warranty itself. In this case they’re probably a direct marketing company, and they are going to charge you an extreme profit to cover their marketing costs.

So basically, if there is a way for you to eliminate the middle man, you are going to save hundreds of dollars in going direct with the actual company that administers the warranty itself.

How can you tell if they are the real deal versus a marketing company? Go ahead and ask them flat out, “Do you administer the warranty yourself?”

If the answer is no, they’re usually going to try and create an illusion where you think you are still calling them when you aren’t by saying something like, “No, you will call the toll-free number for claims assistance”.

Then you can follow up with a more specific question: “Does this claim number go directly to your office?” which cannot be avoid. They’ll have to answer “No, it does not.” And that’s when you know you are dealing with a direct marketer and not an actual warranty company.

At DCI Warranty Services we talk directly to the mechanic on your behalf to make sure the claim is paid and taken care of. So when you’re ready to use your vehicle service agreement with us, the phone number you call is going to ring right to our office.
