How the Wrong Car Warranty Provider Can Rip You Off

by Gregory Nelson

A car warranty is only as good as the person standing behind it. With many warranty providers all they care about is making the sale. They have no interest in paying claims. So within the contract, in the terms and conditions, often times there are enough loopholes that they can legally deny the majority of their claims.

So how can you make sure you don’t get ripped-off by going with the wrong car warranty provider? Well, I’ll start by telling you that there are four reasons a car breaks down: wear and tear, physical damage, mechanical breakdown, and a manufacture’s error. So the best way to make sure you select a good provider is to make sure all your bases are covered in one way or another.

For example, if you have a manufacture’s error the manufacturer is going to cover this anyways. Physical damage is going to be covered by your car insurance. Mechanical breakdown is what all car warranties have to cover, so that only leaves the potential for wear and tear. Well, if wear and tear is not covered in your contract…that leaves alot of room for your claims not to be paid.

So when you think about it this way, it’s very important that your car arranty provider will cover wear and tear. Make sure you ask them about it right away, and then double check that you actually see it in the contract.
