Don’t Wait to Buy Extended Warranty

by Gregory Nelson

I don’t think most consumers realize this, but you are actually better of purchasing your extended warranty as soon as possible versus waiting for the manufacturer’s warranty to expire. Why? Because of a little thing know as pre-existing conditions.

Any claim that comes in on a contract that is 120 days or younger is going to be scrutinized for pre-existing conditions. The warranty company is going to exercise every loophole possible to get out of this kind of claim. In fact, for most companies, it is cheaper for them to just cancel the contract than it is to pay the claim.

So when you buy an extended warranty early on in your manufacturer’s warranty, what you’re guaranteeing is no problems. Your claim can go through without any red flags because there are no pre-existing conditions that could take place. Plus, most companies have a waiting period before their extended warranty goes into affect anyway, so why risk being uncovered for that time?

Unlike other companies who want you to put off purchasing an extended warranty so they can more easily reject your claims, we at DCI Warranty Services suggest buying an extended vehicle service agreement as soon as possible, because then you’re double covered in case the manufacturer goes bankrupt (which is a very real possibility right now).
