From what I’ve read on the Internet (and even seen on the news from time to time) it seems like too many car warranty claims are denied NOT because the parts aren’t covered, but because the car owner did not take the proper steps to file the claim.
Don’t let this be the case for you. If you have a car warranty claim on your vehicle, just be sure to follow each of these 4 simple steps:
- Always start by calling the claims department for assistance. This will help you avoid any confusion or misunderstandings from the start.
- Be sure you have the following information on hand prior to filing your car warranty claim: a complete service history with all receipts as outlined in your contract, and a copy of your contract and contract number.
- You can then take your vehicle to any car repair shop for preliminary inspection.
- Once you are at the repair location, inform the mechanic that they must contact Motor Vehicle Services for authorization BEFORE a repair is made.
Once the car warranty repair is authorized, you DO NOT need to pay first and then be reimbursed. With all of our vehicle service agreements, we pay for the repairs directly. It’s that easy.
