The Real Price of an Extended Warranty

by Gregory Nelson

I’ll be the first to admit it: I’ve fallen victim to that natural consumer instinct to find the lowest and cheapest price and ended up with something pretty worthless before. You know what I’m talking about…that camera you pulled from the bottom of the clearance bin that ended up costing you more in battery replacement and blurry family memories?

Well, I’m sorry to tell you but purchasing the wrong extended warranty is just like digging into that clearance bin, and it’s called “the bin of scams and empty promises.” So if you’re seriously looking to get an extended warranty for your car, be careful that price isn’t the deciding factor, especially if you’re being pressured by a direct marketing company. I’m not saying you should go out, find the most expensive warranty, and expect that you’ll have all the coverage you need. But I hope you understand how choosing a warranty based on price can cost you much more in the long run…and not just financially.

You don’t want the price of your extended warranty to cost you sleep at night because you’re worried that your family is going to end up standed on the side of the road somewhere without the kind of assistance you expected. And you certainly don’t want it to cost you a never ending headache because you can never seem to get claims covered or taken care of.

Always take time to weigh the value against the overall price. Be careful not to pay alot for an extended warranty that doesn’t even have wear-and-tear coverage, and watch out that you don’t underpay and end up discovering a bunch of out-of-pocket costs. At DCI Warranty Services we offer a variety of plans so you can choose the one that’s right for you. So unlike an extended warranty that tips the scale way too heavily on the price side, our vehicle service agreements are leveled out with value for each individual customer.
