Besides never knowing when your car is going to break down or where it’s going to happen, there’s also another important point about having a car warranty that most people don’t realize: Your car may require repairs simply because you hardly ever drive it. This may sound crazy, but hear me out.
Let’s say you own a 2002 Corvette (or perhaps something less flashy…it really doesn’t matter) and you drive it less than 300 miles a month. In fact, maybe you only take it out on special occasions and drive really, really carefully when you do. So why would you ever need to put a car warranty on that car?
Well, the best answer I can give you is that you still need a car warranty especially since you hardly ever drive it. Since the motor fluids aren’t always moving, they don’t have the opportunity to “cycle through” and get cleaned out. Therefore, not driving it very often also causes damage.
Now, the fun part about this scenario is we actually have a customer named Theadore who owns a 2002 Corvette. He told us that even though he never drives it more than 300 miles a month, he always keeps it insured with Motor Vehicle Services for that very reason. And despite the fact that Theadore has never filed a claim, he finds comfort knowing his “pride and joy” is protected.
Also (and I’m sure anybody can relate to this) he has a very hard time trusting people to work on his Corvette. So like I’ve mentioned before about having a car warranty, he enjoys the relationships we have with our mechanics because he knows he’s not going to get screwed on any unnecessary repairs and labor cost.
